Sep 03, 2014 · At the beginning of the Psalm, he says that he was envious when he saw the prosperity of the wicked. He looked at them and said that they don't have troubles like other men, and they are more successful than everyone else... he believed that he had made himself clean for nothing, because he was suffering and they were rich.
This psalm is a community lament in which the psalmist recounts blessings conferred on the people by the Lord (vv. 1-3), pleas for salvation (vv. 4-7), and expresses faith that God will save them (vv. 8-13). While we can't be sure when this psalm was written, it was probably after the return of the exiles from Babylonia.
